Shutterfly is one of my favorite websites, hands down. In addition to allowing users to enjoy and share photos, the site helps users to turn those photos into photo books, meaningful cards, photo gifts, home decor, personal websites and so much more. I currently have 65 projects that I am working on or have completed since opening an account in 2010. In the fall of 2016, while working on my annual family Christmas cards, I came across a pop-up ad to create a custom recipe book.
Throughout my life, food was always what brought my family together. As my own family has grown and moved around, I thought this would the perfect way to capture all of the unique recipes that we have collected over the years. I spent several weeks compiling my favorite recipes and accompanying pictures when it occurred to me; I could also use the recipe book to capture our family history… or the story of how the family came to be through preserving memories with this cookbook. The result was a compilation of perfected recipes, loved and shared throughout the years along with stories about how our family came to be. I hope that this cookbook will be passed down from generation to generation as a living record of our family history.
The hardest part of creating the cookbook was narrowing down which recipes and locating the pictures to use. Shutterfly has multiple cookbook styles to choose from with a variety of layouts to make it easy to copy and paste recipes and show off photos of your favorite dishes.
This unique keepsake has made a perfect gift…excellent for grandparents, new graduates, mother’s day and father’s day. If you are interested in creating your own cookbook, head over to www.shutterfly.com.
